Merab Dvalishvili will face Frankie Edgar at RAF 9 on May 30 in Dallas.
The event was announced after Dvalishvili's initial bout against Henry Cejudo was cancelled due to Cejudo's injury.
What's at stake for Merab Dvalishvili?
Dvalishvili is looking to bounce back after relinquishing the bantamweight crown to Petr Yan in the UFC 323 headliner this past December.
He is known for his relentless pace and grappling in the UFC.
Who is Frankie Edgar?
Edgar is a former UFC lightweight champion and has also challenged for the 145-pound title on three occasions.
He wrestled collegiately at Clarion University before transitioning to an MMA career.
What happened to the initial bout?
Dvalishvili was originally supposed to meet Henry Cejudo in the RAF 8 headliner before Cejudo suffered an injury just prior to their match.
The injury forced the cancellation of the bout and led to the announcement of the new matchup against Edgar.
The event will be headlined by a matchup between Gable Steveson and Alexander Romanov, while Colby Covington will square off against Chris Weidman in the co-main event.
The event airs on Fox Nation.
Dvalishvili is expected to be granted a rematch against the Russian champion Petr Yan in the near future.
Edgar was scheduled to return to combat sports against Jimmie Rivera at BKFC 82 last October but the bout was scrapped after Edgar was not cleared to compete.
Tickets for the event are available and it will be streamed exclusively on Fox Nation.
